This program offers a step-by-step, actionable approach to building and implementing your volunteer recruitment strategy. Each week, you’ll participate in an hour-long group session focused on one specific area of recruitment. You will leave each session with an action to complete before the next meeting and a resource to help you complete it. As a bonus, you can book a half-hour 1:1 session with me to discuss your challenges.
By the end of the program, you will have earned 4.5 hours of professional development, receive a certificate of completion, and have gained access to four valuable resources.
More importantly, you will have made significant steps toward increasing your volunteer workforce.
Week 1: Preparation
Key topics include understanding your organisation’s needs, defining your ideal volunteer, and locating the best places to post your offerings to reach that ideal volunteer.
Week 2: Spreading the Word
Week two focuses on effectively using hardcopy materials and online platforms, enlisting current volunteers to help with recruitment, and leveraging social media to spread the word.
Week 3: Selection
This week, we will cover developing application forms that gather the necessary information, learning effective interview techniques, and combating biases.
Week 4: Advanced Recruitment Strategies
Even beginners can learn advanced techniques! Key topics include micro-volunteering, partnering with corporations to recruit volunteers and event volunteering.
